Youth Invited To Watch Virtual Music Festival In Praise Of Jesus Christ

Youth in the greater Chattanooga area and around the world are invited to participate in a virtual Youth Musical Festival sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  The event will be held on July 29 at 8 p.m.

According to local officials, the theme of the event is “Hear the Voice of the Lord” based on “President Russell M. Nelson’s invitation and promise that as we hear Him, we will find ‘success, happiness and joy in this life.’” This year, the Church launched a #HearHim initiative emphasizing the need for each of us “to listen to the voice of Jesus Christ, whom the Father anointed and appointed as our Mediator, Savior and Redeemer…. Our Father knows that when we are surrounded by uncertainty and fear, what will help us the very most is to hear His Son,” President Nelson said.

“The Church also chose ‘go and do’ (1 Nephi 3:7) as the 2020 Youth Theme – meaning go and do as the Savior commands, which is to serve God and follow the Golden Rule,” said Cindy Wolfe, second counselor in the Young Women’s organization for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  “The commandments of God, when applied, have the power to change us.  Because of Christ, ‘we can decide,’ as President James E. Faust taught, ‘to do better and be better’ (Faust, The Power to Change).  This is the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ – which is for everyone, including the youth of Chattanooga.  We invite all in the greater Chattanooga area to join us for this worldwide Youth Music Festival in praise of Jesus Christ.”

The live stream virtual concert will feature testimonies from youth and Church leaders and music “in various languages, as well as photos, videos, and performances from youth around the world.”  Stream live at ChurchofJesusChrist.orgYouTube.com/StrivetoBe and Facebook.
